What your family photographer wants you to know-Apple Grove studio
Natural outdoor and studio family photoshoots in London.
Real moments matter — and I’m here to help you feel ready for them.
As a mum of two preschoolers and a family photographer, I know how much thought (and effort!) goes into booking a session. So if you’re feeling a little nervous about how it will all go — here’s what I want you to know.
1. You don’t need to perform
You don’t need to arrive polished or perfect.
Your children don’t need to smile on cue or follow directions. In fact, some of the most meaningful photographs come from the in-between moments — when no one’s looking at the camera, but there’s a hand in your hair or a quiet laugh against your shoulder.
I’ll gently guide you throughout so nothing feels forced. You can just be with your people, and I’ll take care of the rest.
2. A little preparation goes a long way
You don’t need perfectly coordinated outfits — but feeling good in what you’re wearing really helps.
To make things easy, I’ll send you:
A simple styling guide
A curated Pinterest board for inspiration
WhatsApp support if you’d like help pulling looks together
I also offer a client wardrobe for mums and small babies — filled with soft, timeless pieces that photograph beautifully and feel effortless to wear.
3. Let the love happen — I’ll take care of the rest
Hug your babies. Kiss their cheeks. Let them climb, run, and cuddle close. The more space we give them to be themselves, the more meaningful the images become.
Sometimes, when too many people are directing (mum, dad, grandparents, and me!), it can overwhelm little ones. So I’ll take the lead on gentle guidance. If I need you to encourage or ask your child to do something, I’ll quietly let you know — but otherwise, feel free to just enjoy the time together.
4. Outdoor sessions designed to feel like an adventure
My outdoor photoshoots in Richmond Park are intentionally relaxed and playful. Think of it more as a walk with your favourite people — with space to explore, interact with nature, and look out for deer along the way.
There’s no pressure to pose or perform — and no rush. Just a beautiful, open space where your children can be free and where your connection as a family can unfold naturally.
And if the chaos creeps in (as it always does with little ones!), that’s okay too. I know the feeling — and I know how to work with it.
These are your family’s archives. Moments full of movement, feeling, and love — preserved just as they are. If that sounds like your kind of session, I’d love to plan something together.

With warmth,
Alina
