Sunset photoshoots in Richmond Park

Outdoor Maternity, Family & Motherhood Photography sessions in London.

If you’re looking for a maternity or family photoshoot that feels relaxed, natural and meaningful - sunset sessions in Richmond Park might be just what you’re after.

As a maternity photographer in Richmond and a mum myself, I know how quickly life moves when you’re raising little ones. That’s why I’ve created these sessions to feel like a pause in the chaos—a chance to slow down, soak it all in, and capture your family just as you are, bathed in beautiful  golden light.

Whether you're expecting your first baby or chasing toddlers through the grass, these outdoor shoots are perfect for maternity photography, motherhood portraits, or family photography in Twickenham and beyond.

What to expect from a sunset session

We’ll meet in one of my favourite quiet spots in Richmond Park, chosen specifically for the season and how the light falls. Don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with the park—I'll guide you there.

Sessions usually begin about an hour before sunset and last for around 60 minutes. We keep it relaxed and pressure-free. There’s no stiff posing—just gentle direction, natural movement, and lots of space for cuddles, play, and connection.

My aim is to photograph the real moments—the way you hold your children close, the way they reach for your hand, the way the light catches their hair as they run ahead. It’s about documenting your family story as it is now.Where to do your newborn photoshoot : Home or studio?

When to book your sunset photography session

These sessions run from May to September, when the light is at its most beautiful. Depending on the time of year, we’ll start somewhere between 6:30pm and 8:00pm to make the most of the golden hour.

I know evenings can feel late for little ones, but honestly - it’s worth skipping bedtime just this once!  The change in routine, the fresh air, and the excitement of being outdoors makes it a special adventure for the whole family. I’ll help you plan ahead with naps, snacks, and anything else that will keep everyone happy and relaxed.

Why choose this type of session?

These sessions are ideal if you're:

  • Looking for a natural and relaxed maternity photoshoot in Richmond Park

  • Wanting to document your family in a beautiful, candid way

  • Searching for family photography in Twickenham or surrounding areas

  • Wanting to honour the season of motherhood, whether you’re expecting, just had a baby, or parenting growing children

How I work

From the moment you book, I’ll be with you every step of the way. We’ll start with a relaxed virtual consultation, where we’ll chat through everything you can expect on the day—from what to wear, to how the session will flow. I’ll help guide you with styling, and in the lead-up to your shoot, I’ll be just a message away on WhatsApp for any little questions or last-minute thoughts.

My approach is gentle, baby- and family-led. As a mum of two, I’ve seen it all—meltdowns, giggles, sleepy cuddles—and I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve to keep little ones engaged. But most of all, I believe the magic happens when we follow their lead. I tune in to your children’s energy, allowing the session to unfold at their pace, without pressure or performance.

Frequently asked questions

What should we wear?
You’ll receive detailed styling advice after booking. I also offer a small studio wardrobe with a selection lovely, flattering dresses for mums.

What if the weather is poor?
If it rains or the light isn’t quite right, we’ll reschedule. I always keep a few backup dates available.

Can grandparents or extended family join?
These sessions are focused on immediate family or motherhood connection. For larger groups, we can arrange a bespoke session—just let me know.

Can I combine maternity and family photography?
Absolutely. Many expectant mums bring their partner and children. These sessions are a beautiful way to celebrate your growing family.

How far in advance should I book?
I recommend booking 4–6 weeks ahead, especially for summer weekends, as I only take on a limited number of golden hour sessions each month.
