Let’s capture your story - beautifully.
Maternity photography in London and Surrey
THIS IS MORE THAN A PHOTOSHOOT
… it’s a celebration of the woman you are — and the mother you’re becoming.
You’re holding a new season of life within you — and my role is to document it with tenderness and intention. My maternity work blends a warm, film-inspired aesthetic with an editorial approach, creating a space where you can relax and feel truly seen.
Every session is shaped with care around your story. Through gentle prompts, styling guidance and relaxed direction, I help you settle into the moment so everything feels natural and easy.
Your final gallery is warm, honest and full of feeling — a love letter to this chapter and your becoming.
“My maternity shoot was nothing short of magical..
It felt like a moment to pause and really connect with my baby before. Being out in Richmond park, surrounded by golden light, was so peaceful. Alina was incredibly kind and made me feel completely at ease from the start. The outfits she brought were beautiful and made me feel so confident. I’ll always treasure the images from that evening - they captured this special time in the most beautiful way.”
— Cassie, St Margarets
The heart of my maternity work
Every mother’s story is different — powerful, vulnerable, shifting moment by moment. Your body changes, your identity expands, your life reshapes itself in ways big and small, whether it’s your first baby or your fifth.
My work honours this transformation.
I focus on what this season feels like for you: the calm before everything changes, the anticipation, the softness, the chaos, the strength beneath the surface.
Maternity is not one story — it is your story.
And my aim is to document it honestly, tenderly and with intention.
Where sessions take place
Family sessions can take place:
Outdoors, at golden hour (sunrise or sunset) in carefully chosen locations around Richmond Park, Bushy Park or another spot that’s meaningful to you
In your home, where everyday life naturally unfolds
In my natural light studio in St Margarets, West London
Together, we’ll choose the setting that feels most natural for you and your family.
From first message to final gallery
From our first conversation to the moment you receive your gallery, I’ll guide you every step of the way.
This includes:
Planning and location advice
Styling support for the whole family
Gentle direction during the session
A thoughtful, hands-on editing process
Everything is designed to feel simple, supportive and considered — so you can just show up and enjoy your time together.
She made me feel so comfortable during the maternity session, really listening to my vision for the shoot and helping me with outfit options. She let our baby take the lead during the newborn photos so he was calm and content throughout.
Alina gave just the right amount of guidance while still allowing space for natural, unposed moments — and captured so many beautiful, candid shots we’ll treasure forever. Seeing myself in the maternity photos gave me such a lift at a time when I didn’t quite feel like myself.”
— Melissa, Kew
“Alina did both my maternity and newborn shoots and we couldn’t be happier with how they turned out.

Continue your story with a newborn session
Many of my maternity clients return once their baby arrives — not simply for convenience, but for continuity.
Having already worked together, I understand your style, your pace, and what matters most to you. That familiarity allows the newborn session to feel calm and seamless, with images that sit naturally alongside your maternity photographs and tell a connected story from bump to baby.
When you’ve had a maternity session with me, your newborn session feels less like starting again and more like continuing a conversation — one that unfolds gently into this next chapter.
As a thank you, clients who have had a maternity session receive £100 off the newborn session fee.
“ I was thrilled with the images and with the experience…
By some small miracle, Alina was able to fit me in relatively last minute and I am SO pleased we could make it work. From booking to receiving the final gallery I couldn’t have asked for better. This is my first pregnancy (and first maternity shoot) so I had no idea what to expect and was a little nervous but Alina made me feel so comfortable straight away. The shoot itself was so fun and I loved the range of outfits Alina had, and I appreciated that she made some of my own outfits work too. When I received my images, I was thrilled. They were even better than I expected, and I can’t wait to frame the prints I ordered to celebrate such a magical time. Couldn’t recommend Alina at Apple Grove Studio more, and I hope to book in with her in the future with baby girl once she’s arrived!”

FAQs
When do I book?
Maternity sessions – The best time is usually between 28–34 weeks, when your bump is beautifully round but you’re still comfortable.
Newborn sessions – babies can be captured in all their fresh newness in the first 2–3 weeks, but there are no firm rules. If you’d rather wait a little longer, that’s absolutely fine too. If the baby is early or late, there’s always room for wiggling.
What time do the sessions take place?
Outdoor sessions – Shot at sunrise or sunset for the most beautiful light.
In-home sessions – Start at 10-11 am, when your home is filled with soft, natural light.
Studio sessions – Between 10 am and 2 pm, when the light is best in the studio.
What if we need to reschedule?
If you or your baby are unwell, we can reschedule—no stress at all. Life happens, and I want you to feel your best and most comfortable for your session.
For outdoor sessions, if the weather doesn’t cooperate (rain, strong winds), we will work to find an alternative date, or move the session to the studio. I’ll always keep an eye on the forecast and be in touch if we need a backup plan.
Where is your studio?
Apple Grove Studio is in St Margarets (TW1 postcode), easily accessible from Central and West London and Surrey. St Margarets, Twickenham and Richmond stations are all within walking distance. If you’re driving, there is a private car park at the studio.
Do you travel for sessions?
I offer in-home newborn sessions across London and love photographing families outdoors, especially in Richmond Park. Travel within 30 mins of the studio is included—beyond that, there may be a small travel fee.
What if my baby doesn’t settle / my child doesn’t behave?
Newborn sessions are completely baby-led. There’s no rush, no pressure—we take our time, with breaks for feeding, cuddles, and settling. If your baby needs extra comfort, we simply pause and go with their rhythm.
For older children, please don’t worry—I’m a mum myself and have plenty of experience with little ones. The best thing to do is let kids be kids. Some of the most beautiful moments happen in the in-between—when they’re running, twirling, snuggling into you, or even having a quiet moment on their own. Sessions are designed to feel relaxed and natural, so there’s no need to stress if your child is a little wild or shy. We’ll go with their flow and capture them exactly as they are.
Do you provide outfits?
Yes! I have a collection of soft, timeless pieces for mums, most of which are pregnancy and breastfeeding friendly. You’re welcome to use anything from my client wardrobe, and during your virtual consultation I also provide styling guidance so your whole family looks beautifully cohesive.
