Frequently asked questions.

FAQs

When do I book?

  • Newborn sessions – babies can be captured in all their fresh newness in the first 2–3 weeks, but there are no firm rules. If you’d rather wait a little longer, that’s absolutely fine too. If the baby is early or late, there’s always room for wiggling

  • Maternity sessions – The best time is usually between 28–34 weeks, when your bump is beautifully round but you’re still comfortable.

  • Family & motherhood sessions – These can be booked anytime, but weekends do fill up quickly.

What time do the sessions take place?

  • Outdoor sessions – Shot at sunrise or sunset for the most beautiful light.

  • In-home sessions – Start at 11 am, when your home is filled with soft, natural light.

  • Studio sessions – Between 10 am and 2 pm, when the light is best in the studio.

What if we need to reschedule?

If you or your baby are unwell, we can reschedule—no stress at all. Life happens, and I want you to feel your best and most comfortable for your session.

For outdoor sessions, if the weather doesn’t cooperate (rain, strong winds), we will work to find an alternative date, or move the session to the studio. I’ll always keep an eye on the forecast and be in touch if we need a backup plan.

Where is your studio?

Apple Grove Studio is in St Margarets (TW1 postcode), easily accessible from Central and West London and Surrey. St Margarets, Twickenham and Richmond stations are all within walking distance. If you’re driving, there is a private car park at the studio.

Do you travel for sessions?

I offer in-home newborn sessions across London and love photographing families outdoors, especially in Richmond Park. Travel within 30 minutes of the studio is included—beyond that, there may be a small travel fee.

What if my baby doesn’t settle / my child doesn’t behave?

Newborn sessions are completely baby-led. There’s no rush, no pressure—we take our time, with breaks for feeding, cuddles, and settling. If your baby needs extra comfort, we simply pause and go with their rhythm.

For older children, please don’t worry—I’m a mum myself and have plenty of experience with little ones. The best thing to do is let kids be kids. Some of the most beautiful moments happen in the in-between—when they’re running, twirling, snuggling into you, or even having a quiet moment on their own. Sessions are designed to feel relaxed and natural, so there’s no need to stress if your child is a little wild or shy. We’ll go with their flow and capture them exactly as they are.

Do you provide outfits?

Yes! I have a collection of soft, timeless pieces for mums, most of which are pregnancy and breastfeeding friendly. You’re welcome to use anything from my client wardrobe, and during your virtual consultation I also provide styling guidance so your whole family looks beautifully cohesive.

The Studio experience

My studio is a private, natural-light space tucked away in St Margarets, designed to feel calm and welcoming from the moment you step inside.

With a soft, neutral setting and beautiful selection of carefully chosen outfits, the space allows you to relax and focus fully on your baby and family.

Even though we’re in the studio, the images are never stiff or posed — my approach centres on simplicity and connection, creating natural, timeless portraits that feel true to you.
