Newborn photography at home in Richmond
Welcoming baby Raffi into the world
Those first days at home with your baby can feel like a blur — a mix of joy, tenderness, and exhaustion. Many families choose newborn photography at home in Richmond because it allows everything to unfold naturally, without leaving the comfort of their space. It’s relaxed, baby-led, and beautifully personal.
Why choose an at-home newborn photography session in Richmond
For new parents, the early days can feel overwhelming. An at-home newborn session removes all pressure — no packing, no travelling, no worrying about timings. Your baby stays in familiar surroundings, and you’re free to settle into the natural rhythm of the morning.
The beauty of these sessions comes from the small details: the softness of your bedroom light, the quiet moments between feeds, the feeling of documenting your life exactly as it is right now. It’s an approach rooted in comfort and authenticity.
Maternity session in Richmond Park: building connection before the newborn shoot
I first met Sophie and Ludo when she was pregnant with Raffi. We spent a warm summer evening wandering through Richmond Park, talking about their baby boy, the changes ahead, and how they imagined their first months as a family.
That maternity session gave us a chance to connect without rush — and when their newborn session came around, everything felt familiar and easy. It’s one of the reasons I love photographing both maternity and newborn chapters for families in Richmond and across London.
Baby Raffi’s newborn session at home in Richmond
When Raffi was born, I arrived at their Richmond home on a cold autumn morning. Staying indoors felt perfect — warm rooms, soft blankets, and the quiet rhythm of a newborn who had already begun shaping his parents’ days.
We spent around two hours together, documenting Raffi in the most natural way: curled into Sophie’s arms, resting on Ludo’s shoulder, stretching tiny fingers, and taking everything in with that unmistakable newness.
At-home newborn photography allows for a gentle pace. There is space for feeds, nappy changes, pauses, and the small moments in between — all of which become part of the story.
What an at-home newborn session in London really feels like
For anyone considering newborn photography in London, especially if you’re feeling a little unsure about how it will go, here’s what you can expect:
Your baby leads the session
You don’t need to tidy or prepare your home extensively
Natural light does the work — even on grey winter days
You can stay in comfortable clothing and change as needed
Everything is relaxed, guided gently, and entirely baby-focused
My aim is always to create a calm, reassuring experience where you feel supported and seen — and where the photographs feel true to your family.
Sophie’s experience:
“We booked a sunset maternity shoot and newborn package with Alina and it was such a wonderful experience. She made us feel completely at ease and the atmosphere she created for the newborn shoot was so calm and peaceful. The pictures are absolutely incredible we couldn’t be happier, she is so so talented and I am so happy we have these memories forever. Thank you so much.”
Reviews from families mean so much. It is always an honour to be welcomed into someone’s home during such an intimate season.
Once their full gallery was delivered, Sophie and Ludo chose a collection of fine-art prints — timeless pieces printed on museum-grade paper. These are the photographs that become heirlooms: the ones Raffi will one day hold in his hands, seeing the love that surrounded him from the very beginning.
