Newborn studio photoshoot in London
You spend your days learning this new rhythm — the feeds, the cuddles, the quiet moments in between. A newborn photoshoot in London is a chance to pause for a little while and hold onto how it all feels. Not posed or perfect — just tender and real.
My London newborn photography studio is designed with new parents in mind. It’s tucked away in Twickenham, within easy reach from the city. It’s calm, softly lit, and designed so you can exhale the moment you walk in.
A calm and natural experience
Before your session, we’ll have a short virtual consultation to talk through what you’d love to capture — from the tones that inspire you to how you’d like your images to feel. Together, we’ll plan a relaxed morning with space for feeding, cuddling, and simply being.
As a newborn photographer in London I know that many parents worry about whether their baby will settle or how they’ll feel in those early weeks. Please don’t — that’s exactly what I’m here for. I’ve been photographing newborns for over five years and, as a mum of two myself, I understand how unpredictable these early days can be. There’s no rush or expectation here - we take our time, following your baby’s rhythm.
If you’re not quite feeling like yourself yet (and that’s completely normal), I’ll guide you gently throughout the session. We’ll go at your pace, and I’ll help with soft, flattering posing that feels comfortable and natural. I’ll also suggest wardrobe options that photograph beautifully — flowing, neutral pieces that flatter and complement the tones of the studio.
The studio
At Apple Grove Studio, everything is set up for comfort. The space is warm and intimate, with soft light filtering through the windows. There’s room to feed, change, and take breaks as needed. I keep a curated collection of knitted baby pieces on hand, but I always encourage parents to include anything that feels personal — a blanket from home, a favourite outfit, something that carries meaning.
Each session is an invitation to slow down and be present. The focus is never on perfection, but on truth — the tiny details, fleeting expressions, and the connection that already runs deep between you.
Natural light and authentic newborn photography
Although it’s a studio, the photographs have the warmth and softness of natural light. I only use daylight — no flash, no harsh lighting setups — to create images that feel alive and genuine. There are no props or elaborate poses, just honest moments between you and your baby.
My approach to newborn photography in London is simple: gentle direction, minimal styling, and a focus on emotion. I don’t wrap babies into complex positions or place them in baskets or buckets. Instead, I aim for something more timeless — the beauty of connection, skin-to-skin closeness, and all the small details that make this time so meaningful.
For families across London
If you’re searching for newborn photography in London, the studio is easy to reach from Richmond, Kingston, Chiswick, or central London. Many families tell me it feels like stepping briefly out of the city and into a quieter rhythm.
Whether this is your first baby or your third, these images will become something you return to — reminders of how it felt in the beginning.
Booking your newborn photoshoot
Most families book after their 20 week scan to secure a spot within the first 2-3 weeks after birth, though I always keep some flexibility for early or late arrivals. Once confirmed, you’ll receive a booking link and short questionnaire, followed by our consultation call. After your session, your gallery will be ready within 30 days, with the option to upgrade to the full collection if you wish.
